Coming to us all the way from Pikeville, Ky., we have a sweet one year old Jack Russell Terrier mixed female named Nikita.  This active young lady is a healthy weight of 24 pounds with boundless energy.  She is house-trained and will signal by pacing or nudging her person when she needs to go outside.  While she has become accustomed to sleeping with her family and friends, she does use a crate and could likely be trained to do so at night if in proximity to her family.

 

Nikita loves to play with toys and is friendly with other dogs.  She had not been used to a leash and that training is progressing nicely.  She is ever ready to run and jump but just as satisfied to find a comforting lap and attention.  Coming from an early puppy-hood of neglect along with her brothers, she craves the closeness and security that a loving home could provide.  Once she is warmed up to her new friends, Nikita will display that terrier loyalty and affection in reward for your efforts.  

 

Her general health is excellent and her short coat does indicate seasonal shedding which will require some grooming mixed in with a chance to provide close and comforting interaction and bonding.
