Copper has tested positive for heartworms. It will be a long recovery (4-6 months) but he is expected to have no long-term affects from it. Thankfully we caught it early. He is being treated right now. As part of his treatment he will have to have crate rest for all of October and November. He is a very active dog so this will be very difficult for him. We will be buying special toys and treats for him to try to keep his mind occupied at least. If you would like to help us you can send a one-time donation to help cover costs or you can send a monthly donation. No amount is too small and all of it will go to his care.
###written before we knew about the heartworms but all is still true### Hi there! I'm Copper and I love to have fun! I love to play with other dogs(especially bigger ones). I was taken from my owner by the Pendleton County Animal Control because I was being kicked and abused there. I have no long term issues about it though. I'm a very happy guy looking for my forever home. I would love to go for walks or to the park to run. I'm very fast. I have hops! I love to jump. I like to chase cats too so you if you have cats I'm not the dog for you. i love all people and all dogs that I have met. If you would like to meet me please fill out an adoption application soon! Hugs & lots of kisses! Copper
I weigh about 22lbs My adoption fee is $250
